“There’s always a little truth behind every “just kidding,” a little knowledge behind every “I don’t know,” a little emotion behind every “I don’t care,” and a little pain behind every “It’s okay.” —

This would have been from nikhil’s blog (on that note a welcome to the tumblr world), but nikhil took this quote down. So i had to search it on google…

My thoughts are that it’s true, but we dont necessary have to make it a true statement…maybe we’re just more afraid to really tell someone how we’re feeling because of how they will react.

Day 21: A Recipe

I really just throw stuff together and try to make it taste good. Most of the time since I’m only cooking for me (and I’m not that picky) I use what I have in my fridge…this usually means ground turkey seasoned with some veggies and then either burritos or pasta…

I got this pizza sandwich from my sister…sorry it’s not that fancy, but if you want a good recipe you should hit up my sister, Courtney, cause she makes some bomb diggity food. Her cookies are pretty on point…but then again my Dad’s cookies are the real bees knees and the bast part about his cookies are that you’ll never get the same one twice…holler at some mixed cereal cookies…

Anyway back to my sandwich…I really only make this at home when my Mom’s fridge is full of the right stuff.

  1. Get some good sized slices of sourdough bread and spread butter on one side of each slice of bread
  2. On the other side of each peace of sourdough bread spread a hearty helping of some pasta sauce. Plain sauce is good or you can go bold with one of them special pasta sauces…
  3. Cut up slices of mozzarella cheese, enough so you can lay it down to cover the past sauce.
  4. If you have some chicken, meat balls, or basically any choice of meet you want, heat it up in a pan. Cook it through and then spread the meat of choice onto one slice of the bread on the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Close the sandwich with the other side of the sandwich. Your sandwich should now be, butter, bread, pasta sauce, cheese, meat (if desired), cheese, pasta sauce, bread, and butter.
  6. Heat a pan up that can fit you sandwich. Once heated place the sandwich on the pan and grill each side of the sandwich like you would a grilled cheese. Flip to heat the other side.
  7. Once done cut in half and enjoy.
  8. You could garnish with red chili flakes or other veggies such as olives and peppers or other ingredients that may be found on a pizza, all though I’ve only done the red chili flakes.

So yeah it may be a glorified grilled cheese, but if you want something out of the ordinary and are a little daring, give the pizza sandwich a try.

Day 20: A hobby of yours.

It’s kind of sad. I have limited hobbies now a days. I don’t really consider tv a hobby, dont really wanna talk about drinking and going out as a hobby, and i don’t read enough to consider it a hobby (yet). So like some of these previous posts, I’m gonna go old school.

Back when I was in the 2nd and 3rd grade, I was really into collectible cards. I had tons and still to this day have many of my sets. The first big set of cards i was into were the X-men ones and looking back my X-men cards were my favorite. No dealing with team changes, no dealing with trying to get autograph cards. Just pure artwork and back then the art work was good. I would love going out with my mom and buying packs of cards here and there and then coming home and opening them. I got such pleasure out of opening these cards, putting them in card sleeves and admiring the art work flipping the pages as I looked at them. Eventually I followed the craze, got into trading card games like pokemon (where i had special japanese cards from when my dad traveled to japan) and magic the gathering. And in between that I was really into baseball, football and basketball cards. But it always started with my x-men cards.

I am sad that I no longer into this stuff, it brings back such child hood memories. I wish I was rich just so i could buy some boxes of this stuff and sit in my living room, open all these packs of cards, organize them, and then look at them…The funny thing is that they hold like zero monetary value now a days…but to me they are still everything and if i lost them for whatever reason i know a part of my child hood would be gone forever…

Above is one of my favorite sets. The 1994 Fleer ultra X-men set. I have 149/150 of the base cards only missing the Wolverine vs Sauron Card….I have about 75% of the special edition cards too…looking this up brought back the good old days…

Maybe thats why I was so stoked about all these comic book movies making a come back. Maybe thats why i could careless if rotten tomatoes gave x-men 1 5% or 100% (it currently holds a 81%). I guess just thinking of the x-men brings up such great memories that i never want to let go of.

Here is to staying young (and positive)

“What makes a blog successful? The answer is consistency. Sounds simple, but it’s the hardest thing to do for most blog upstarts. The best blogs are reliable, updated regularly, and never skip a beat. The content (unfortunately) comes second. Truth!” —

30 Things to do: Catch Up Edition Part 2 of the Part 3 catch up!

Day 18: Whatever tickles your fancy

TheHundreds.com

I guess this is what I should strive for when I work on this blog and why I am totally failing when I am not consistent with my blog.

To a better blog…thanks @bobbyhundreds for the advice

30 Things to Do (Catch Up Edition Part 2)

So the hectic-ness of coming home (and being extremely hung over) and my short trip up to sacramento has left me three days to catch up on my 30 things to do… so here we go

Day 13: A fictional book: while i totally dig Harry Potter and Dan Brown books and i have mentioned the Life of Pi already on my blog…I’m gonna go all the way out to right field on this one and post a child hood favorite

Animalia by Graeme Base

What a cooler way to learn letters then this one. The art work has always been amazing to me and Animalia along with Base’s other book “The Eleventh Hour” will always be longtime favorites to me

Day 14: A non-fictional book

While i’ve talked about The Film Club on here already (something everyone should read), my non-fictional book of choice is The Element: How Finding Your Passions Changes Everything by Sir Ken Robinson. I have not yet finished, but it has already changed my view on life and future goals. I highly recommend it to everyone and hope that it allows you a positive view as well as the ability to find that special passion that truly puts you at your best.

Day 15: A Fanfic

To be honest I have no idea what this is….and wikipedias entry is to long…

okay till next time!

Day 8- A photo that makes you angry/sad

This one was tough. Thinking of something that makes me angry/sad is tough just because i try to stay positive. Also cause posting certain things would fall under the “F***ed up” posting category…

So i’ll post this picture…I’ve moved on from it but when I found out I didnt get in, I was super bummed.

But now i’m cool off of it and will just have to try again in the future.

30 Things to Do (Catch Up Edition)

So I have been super slacking…and damn i missed a day after only 2 days…fail…

it’s okay i’ll catch up right now

Day 3: Your favorite television program

I dig a lot of shows…it’s tapered off from before but my schedule sorta goes like this.

Sunday: How to Make it in America

Monday: 24, Chuck, HIMYM

Tuesday: Lost

Wednesday: Modern Family

Thursday: Office, FlashForward

Right now i am totally digging How to Make it in America…It’s from the producers of entourage but about some up and comers trying to make it in the fashion word. Reminds me of what could have been oh so many years ago if i had the drive and the talent

Check it on HBO on Sundays…

Day 4: Your favorite book

I usually find it hard to read. But when I find a book I’m into I normally can not put it down. Right now I am reading The Element by Sir Ken Robinson…It’s about passions and i’m sure i’ll claim it as the book everyone needs to read. Since i haven’t finished it though I’ll go with…
